I live here. It’s a nice city and here you can find a lot of neo-classic elements in the architecture and constructions, the renaissance influence by the period of belle-epoque. it’s also a lot rainy, specially between january to march.hot weather. urban city, but you can find an incredible environment with three-hundred-year trees and a lot of animal species at the museums and parks. also, the city is known because of the “green life” and the nature
great food. here there is also a big celebration at october called círio de nazaré: http://www.braziltour.com/site/en/cidades/materia.php?estados=341&id_cidade=7573&regioes=207

A review of this place: the worst traffic i've ever seen

well, i had just traveled in some areas of brazil, but it’s traffic is worse than brasília, goiânia and curitiba, some of the bigger brazilian cities that i had visited.

well, i dislike places where everyone is busy, and when to be waiting consumes your life as sleeping.

Four years

When I was a younger teenager, I lived here for 4 years. Nice people and different weather. The tropical rainforest (The Amazon) is a little bit far from the city.

A review of this place: My hometown.

The place where it never gets cold. How I miss its weather! The skin toasting under the sun…

Worth visiting!

Was there in 1989-1990

It was great. I remember the smiles on the peoples faces passing on the street and the misery on the faces of those that were hidden in the shanty towns. I was amazed at how the poorest people seemed to be the kindest and the richest people had the most evil intentions.

The Portal to the Amazon

As my mother’s home town, I was was always a tourist in Belem while visiting my family. I never lived there, but this is a wonderful city with many historical places worth visiting and from which I have great memories.

One can have a great time with all the gastronomical variety here: everything is delicious, from the typical dishes to the fruits from the region.

One warning though: be prepared for the hot weather! This place is hot and humid, maybe the hottest I’ve ever been to; most people there don’t care about hot water, and you’ll be sweating after each of your many daily showers.
