Fortaleza

Well, I was there for work, but my hotel was near the beach so I could take a walk there in the end of the afternoons.
The beach avenue is great, wonderful, with so many things to do. My favorite place there was the “50 Sabores” icecream store. There you can find so many different ice cream flavours (50, to be exact). You can ask to try as many as you want before you actually buy your own. I was always curious about the local fruits and the strange combinations (such as açai and tapioca – called “paraense”).
Another place in the beach avenue is a market. I bought there some gifts (nuts and candies) to my mother and my boss (he asked to me 2 kilos of cashuws nuts from there).
The best views I could see from there was of the docks with its many wind usines. Well, the wind there is incredible stronge and necessary (for the really hot weather).
Well, I can wait the company send me again there next month and I can go with more time to take a lot of walk, try some local foods and spend a little more time at the beach after the work time.

Seams like the perfect place to get away and still have a lot of things to do, I’ll be going to Fortaleza on october 26 until november 4.
It’d be great to get to talk to someone that lives in this city.

Get ready to stay up late and dance the traditional North Eastern dance of Forró. It is easy to learn

I lived in Fortaleza for a couple of years as a kid (1976-1978) while my father taught Geology at the local university.

We lived in a big house with two or three maids and an honest-to-god fountain in the front yard! We spent weekends at the country club (the Recreo) or the Beach, and during the week I ran wild in the streets with the local kids playing cops & robbers and setting fire to vacant lots.

I refused to wear a shirt or take a bath, so every once in a while the maids would corner me with a garden hose and scrub me down.

I had a homestay with a great family here, very beautiful people and beaches. Very slow pace!

I’m living there since 3 years and I’m happy , I’m not thinking to move anywhere from Fortaleza .
Nice town , very nice beach , nice and friendly people , definitely , worth visiting , you’ll enjoy .

Fortaleza it’s a cool city, localized in Brazil, with arround 2mi habitants.
At here you will find great and pretty people, with cool beaches and bars.

It’s alright. I’ve lived here for two years or so, I’m originally from Rio de Janeiro, and people from cold weather countries love it here so if you want hot weather, just come.

My sister lived there for 6 years, in Praia do Futuro.

Every year I go to there.

I had a great week there, very hot and sunny every day, but most probably the best part was the student meeting that I attended, lots of nice and interesting people.
