Alexandria

I had sort of been to Alexandria a couple of times before. Once just passing through on our way from the airport to a location in Southern Maryland. I remember looking out the window of the car and thinking to myself, “this looks like kind of a cool place, I’ll have to come check it out someday.” The other time was with some associates from work. We were staying in a hotel in Arlington. One of them knew of a good restaurant to eat at, so we hopped in a cab and rode to Alexandria. We ate. poked around a little bit, and then went back to the hotel.

This time I went to Alexandria to attend a conference and help as a subject matter expert on a specific subject being discussed.

I stayed at the Hilton, right across the street from the King Street Metro Station. I had a spectacular view from my window. The conference was at another hotel, a few blocks away. I enjoyed the short walk every day. In the evenings I walked to Old Town and enjoyed the sights and the aromas.

Lived here nearly 2 years. Loved this place! Very expensive, but such a lovely city with complete access to DC and Arlington.

I was born here, but I don’t remember anything about it.

I have lived here practically all my life. Every time I go someplace else, I think of how much I miss this place.

I’m originally from here. Old Town has interesting shops and the torpedo factory is nice to walk through – its an art gallery now. Mount Vernon, of course, is another place to visit.

My home! My hood! The best of all worlds: diverse, suburban, close to DC, great museums and sites, TC Williams!

I live here at the moment

my boyfriend lives here and i’ve always loved coming to see him. it’s just a completely different atmosphere than the rest of virginia; people are so intelligent, fast-paced and interesting. i love it.

Alexandria is a beautiful little city to visit. There is an abundance of well preserved homes and buildings in the historic Old Town district. Downtown is very animated with plenty of restaurants and interesting boutiques. There’s much to do, especially if you’re a history buff.

I enjoyed my time in Alexandria. Went there to visit family. Alexandria is very close to Washington D.C. and also Maryland. I love the laid back atomosphere I felt while I was in Alexandria.
