Metro Manila aka: Metropolitan Manila, National Capitol Region

once i was born here in this place..
though i really hate it but i can’t control it.. ehehe..^^

i am a city girl! born.live.raised.knowned in this place..
i can’t imagine myself being in a country life unlike the city because i’ll be dumbed if i live in that kind of place..
it’s like i don’t fit there..

manila is a small city for me, but people in the country thinks that manila is xoxoxo fucking big but it ain’t! they always think that living here in the city is so cool because of the latest trends and etc. and also that they can make big money here.. but duh! it is xoxoxo fucking NOT!

there are so many poor people here, living under the bridge or in the railways or in any places that is not occupied yet! all of them i think came from the provinces.. people who tried they’re luck but what they get is the gigantic curse of their lives..lol

they are not using their minds because for me, living in the country is xoxoxo peaceful and there are a lot of earnings that they can make in their place.. it is more progressive than the city but they just don’t know how to use it.. based on my opinion.. but that’s what it is..

Has its good and not so good places.

Why spend your time in smog infested Manila? Go to Baguio or up north to a beach.

This place was really down-to-earth. The lights are colorful and you really get a feel for the city! Plus, the carriage rides are awesome!

I went to Manilla for a short trip several years ago because Dad was on expat for a few months there. The trip was completely out of spontaneity (at least to me) so I didn’t really travel around the city to leave footprints at tourist spots. Mostly spent my time with parents shopping and eating, just as we are in our home city.

While we were window shopping in a large cosmopolitan shopping mall, a very pleasant scent of barbecued food from a restaurant conquerred our senses. We had really great barbecue buffet there, the Angus beef drove us mad. The food was literally unforgettable. We love the beef so much that we ordered altogether SEVEN plates of it(?!) until we were too embarrassed to order any more. The staff were really nice, they actually encouraged us to order again! I’ve had a wonderful time in Manilla and I still miss the food today.

I was born in Manila but moved to New York when i was 3… Though I don’t remember much from my time there as a child, every now and then I have recollections of staying overnight at a beauiful beach, riding my bike, and early morning breakfast with my cuzins around a huge table… strange what i remember huh… I long to visit again as my last trip was years ago… Definately one of the best places on earth…

Although I was very young back when I visited this place… I know I was VERY happy. I wish I rembebered more, I want to go back. My dad grew up here.

I accompanied a psychiatric patient to Manila (long story) and then stayed overnight while awaiting my flight out. It was shortly after the Marcoses were deposed. There were uniformed men with guns everywhere. Every intersection, every door to every store.

My room was on the second floor with a one story shed just outside the window, making breaking in very feasible. I was so freaked out I slept with my passport and ticket under me. The poverty I saw was incredible and the cab driver kept trying to sell me a girl.

I’ve never been so glad to get out of a place in my life.

so of course i’d want people to see it.

it could be a major culture shock for some of you guys..

a very busy place..

My real home away from home… and the only place where my heart truly belongs. I left my heart in Manila.
