I’m just returned from my 6 days trip thru Iran. It was just… you know, amazing. I can not pick words kind enough to describe how warm, open, hospitable and optimistic Iranian people are.
From the traveller’s point of view, Tehran is not the most beautiful or most interesting city of Iran. It should and must be visited though, just to get acquainted with the country, to know its people…
In Tehran, it is incredibly easy to make friends. You just have to take a walk on a street looking foreign – and… I can bet my last dollar that in a three to five minutes, you’ll be offered some tea, asked where you came from (very often, in a good English), asked whether there is something they can do for you or AT LEAST you’ll be greeted by a friendly smile and “HELLO MISTER”. First time I experienced that in some 7am, going with my backpack on thru quite remote streets near Tehran Southern Train Terminal.
It was an amazing start of an amazing trip. See the Lonely Planed guide to Iran for more information on Tehran, but, in any case, you definitely should go there to know this peaceful, friendly, generous, proud and kind people before some crazy cowboy bombs them for any kind of WMDintentions their government “might” have had.
