A review of this place: 1 day too short

I took a day trip to Tallinn from Helsinki. I only went to the old town. Tallinn is a beautiful city. I loved the old square and the many terrasses scattered around. Had a bowl of soup at one of the restaurants, where it turned out they served soup by the litre. The Dominican Monastery is worth a visit, if only for the old lady who speaks 3 words of english, but does her best to give you a tour (it’s not optional).

Go to restaurant Olde Hansa. Not to eat there (i didn’t like the food at all) but to have a few drinks. I can personally recommend cinamon beer and the spiced wines.

If you’re taking a day trip from Helsinki, do remember to be on time for the last ferry. It leaves very early (around 8 pm) and there won’t be another one until 1 am at night. I am speaking from experience. Unfortunately.

Old Town is very nice to walk around in, lots of windy old roads and a street-bazaar that i unfortunately missed since i was only there at night. I was getting taken around, so i don’t remember names but there was a little cafe near there, and a really cool renaissance-era restaurant, they sell sugar & cinnamoned almonds near one of the gates.

Outside of old town i played hack-sack with some people i ran into on the street. :)

A tip I have about this place

Don’t spend too long time here, there is not too much to do. old town is pretty but the tourist shops are annoying. Outside old town is really nothing. It’s worth seeing, but 5 hours walking is enough

Tallin in 7 hours

I think Tallin is a very beauthifull please, perfect for poetical inspiration, becuase all the old town has this bohemian felling. Its an old city, and I was so happy I could see it in 7 hours, all the churches and the markets all that stuff. Its a great pleace to visit, but I dont recommend it for a long stay, it might get a little boring

A lot of old cobblestone pathways, has “old town” along wtih “new town”... does have a lot of tourist traps, so what.

A very interesting city… people were friendly. not bad.
Went in july via a cruise from helsinki, Finland just for a day trip.

A review of this place: Beautiful Medieval Town

Tallinn is a beautiful town of winding cobblestoned streets that closely resembles what it looked like in the MIddle Ages. There are restaurants and a few tourist shops, but you could also just wander around and take pictures!

A review of this place: Lady Lemora went to Talinn....

Flew by Eesti Air, the Estonian national airline. It was quite basic but nothing strange if youve ever traveled by Ryanair or Easy Jet! The Airport was very basic – dont plan on buying loads of duty free on the way back as there wasnt much!!
It was April when I went and 5 degrees C. Freezing by my standards but…...shrugs
Theres a lovely….restaurant or theatre bar…i cant remember but inside in was just like somewhere James Bond would have met a contact. All sort of 50s/60s decor, dry martinis, cigarette holders, lust and intrigue!

A tip I have about this place

More touristy than I was expecting, and more expensive, especially after having been in Lithuania (but still much cheaper than western europe). Beautiful old town.
