My dad was here on business when I was in primary school and I loved it – I went to the British Embassy School and met some aomazing people from all over the world who I would love to catch up with. The city’s great – super busy, crazy drivers and football loons! Can’t wait to go back one day and see where I lived!

I’ve lived in Ankara for 4 years. Even though it is a bit gloomy and seems unorganized and noisy, I love the city. Ankara makes you be bound to itself; when you start discovering the city by time, it is not so easy to be detached.

If time is limited in Turkey, don’t sacrifice another location for Ankara, but if you’re passing through have a look around and see the unromantic reality of life in a Turkish city.

I lived in Ankara for a little while, but got out of the city at every opportunity. But I’m glad I got to know the place because any place is worth visiting.

I’ve been here about 25 years and somehow i like this city.

But other places in Turkey are far more beautiful. Ankara is the capital and it is a bit dirty and not as interesting as other places.

Studied in university and lived there for more than 10 years. Not as exciting as Istanbul and there’s no sea there but some historical places there and around.

No point going there for the sake of it but wirth seeing anyway.

i’ve been here and i had a really really great time. i did have an inhabitant as a guide, though… :) you don’t want to go to ankara for the culture, go to istanbul for that. best thing about ankara is the night-life!

Well Ankara is similar to DC, if we accept the common saying Istanbul is like NY. There are some interesting places to visit such as the Castle, and several museums, but other than that it is not a city that would take more than 2 or 3 days to see all of it’s interesting places. If you are around Ankara don’t miss the chance to visit castleü, but don’t come to Ankara from a thousand miles.
