Kiev aka: Kyiv

I now have finally found the place in life that I am comfortable with! I became dizzy and almost fell in Independance Square, and then had an extremely powerful almost spiritual experience, a deja vu, I felt the place was familiar, I had been there before! I know my way around and I had very much felt as if I had: finally found my real “home.” The most difficult part was leaving. I am now living in the USA and I am terribly uncomfortable living there! I was so impressed with the togetherness of the Ukrainian and Russian Culture! I did not want to leave, I left to a lonely and desolate life here. I am miserable again, this is not a home! Leaving Kiev in November of 2006 have put tears into my eyes that have not yet dried now at the end of February 2007! I hope I live long enough to tell about future travels for the USA infrastructure is for killing the spirit of a person!

I was born In Kiev, and lived there for thirteen years of my life. I adore my city, and love the culture. I wold not recommed living there, but visit, absolutely! The nature is so beutiful. I would also recomend visiting a small city in Ukraine, aside from Kiev, because you will see the most beutiful scenary ever. Kiev is full of historical buildings, and gorgeous churches. So, if you are a religious person, or just someone who likes to be connected to his/her inner self, i would recommend going. Also, if you can, go see Kiev’s ballet and visit all the musiems that you can. Art culture(in my opinion) is very different, and has a very strong sence of high perfection that will leave you inspired no matter what.

I was in kiev in 1990, just before the collapse of the USSR. It was very different from what I expected it to be, but one of the best experiences of my life. It infected me with the travel bug, and I’ve been on the go ever since!

it`s charming.

and I think Ucranians are pretty much like Italians

I want to go here because I am one quarter Ukrainian. My great-grandfather emigrated to the U.S. I’m not exactly where in the Ukraine he was from, but I would like to visit there as well as Kiev. I really want to see where I come from, where my family came from.

i was born here and moved when i was a few months old..
then about a year or 2 ago i went back to see how its like.
it was nothing like my parents described it..
it changed alot.
i dont think i will be going back again.
but it does have many many pretty buildings.
and many churches.

Kiev has so many sights to see including memorials, parks, churches, catacombs, and museums.

It’s worth a few days and I want to go back already.

I like it very much and go there very often. However, the signs of burger-civilization spoiled it look a bit, it is still cool.
