Loved it

I went to Rome when I was 17 or something, and I remember liking it then, but I don’t remember much of it. I took hardly any pictures. So this trip to Rome was to remember the places properly and see a few more.

The beauty of Rome is that there is something amazing around every corner. Every building is followed by an even more fabulous building. Especially loved going to the Piazza Navona again, which is so pretty. Also loved the Pantheon, EUR and just all those little streets to wander through.

Visit in Winter

We spent 3 weeks in Rome in January-February and had a fantastic time. The weather was not always ideal for outdoor activities, but there are so many indoor things to see and do that it is easy to fill time. Be sure to visit the major sights but also look around for some of the minor ones. There are numerous small churches with fantastic architecture, art, and histories, and there are almost too many restaurants and bars to try. Every neighborhood, or so it seems, has some often overlooked places worth visiting.

I want to go again

I saw Rome when I was 15 on a family trip to Italy. We were only there for 2 days and I loved it. Rome felt so mysterious and I’d like to go back, see more of the city. We didn’t get to see the famous church there because it was a holiday and way too busy but we did see the Trevi Fountain, the Spanish Steps and the Colosseum. Amazing and well worth seeing.

The first time I went to this place

I was a 17 year-old exchange student desperate to go to Rome. My host sister fought with my host mother two days before out departure day. So, I went by myself and it was one of the best life experiences I have. I was able to see all the places I have studied during my History classes and the art I learnt durint the art classes. I couldn’t be happier..

The first time I went to this place

Visited for three days with a tour group, and hit all the major tourist attractions including Vatican City. So much to see and do! it was early October when we went, but the weather was still warm. I love how they eat! Great food everywhere we went! Would love to return. I even threw a coin in the fountain to seal the deal :)

A review of this place

Rome is a lovely city, a perfect place to visit for married couples and for people interested in history & culture :) Never-ending historical sites, beautiful roads, nice weather, nice shops, a city definately worth visiting

The only somewhat negative point I found was that many people in Rome generally weren’t too friendly or helpful…Maybe I happened to meet a group of unpleasant people unfortunately, but that left a negative impression

Nevertheless,worth visiting

I want to go back!

Of course I want to go back…I didn’t see nearly enough of this fascinating city! I was only there for a few hours. I hope to have the opportunity to return and see many of the sights I missed…

Some day maybe…

5 Hours in Rome

I wrote before that I would have a 10-hour layover in Rome on my way from Tunis to Cairo this past summer. I asked for advice here and people were so very helpful…THANK YOU to all of those who helped.

My husband and I caught the train from the airport to the city center. The ride was a little longer than I expected, but it was worth it. We didn’t plan very well, but it was exciting to step off the train in Rome. We had no idea where to go or in what direction to go. We just started walking and asked people along the way. We found a cute gelato shop, nice gift shop, and finally the colosseum. We didn’t have a lot of time, so we didn’t tour the inside. It was amazing nonetheless. I did fall on the steps leading down to the colosseum though!

Then we took a cab from there to Trevi Fountain. I loved it! Then we walked again and found an adorable little alley filled with restaurants. We had a delicious lunch outside in that alley way. Then we made our way back to the train station on foot. We could have tried to take the metro trains, but we wanted to see as much of Rome as we could. It was a lovely day. We stopped and bought some fruit from a fruit stand. It was lovely!

We had such a nice time. I would love to go back to see more of the sights. We were only there a few hours, but those hours were precious ones!
