i went to Budapest last Summer and had the time of my life. However I’d strongly advise staying in Buda as opposed to Pest, as the area is more interesting (imo) and the hotels in Buda are nicer too. It’s a real mixture of history and culture overall though – the notion of history is most evident with the bullet holes in some of the old buildings, terrifying but fascinating.over 2 years ago

i don’t know how it happened but it seems like i’ve always wanted to go to hungary. last year my family and i were just about to go but at the last minute we went to prague in the czech republic instead. i’m glad we went to prague but budapest is still at the top of my places to go!over 4 years ago
As being a tourist many times and now living in BP, I collected my hints to this map.

Go to the Rudas baths – if you’re a woman, that’s only possible a day or two a week, but it’s worth making the effort to find out when you can go. It’s a much more traditional experience than the more touristy baths in the city park, and the building is beautiful.over 4 years ago
I haven’t been to Prague (yet!), but people say that it is similar to that city. Be prepared to loosen that belt – lots of meat and red wine, you won’t go hungry! And loads of thermal baths to relax in as well :)
Wish that I could have had a couple of extra days to do some day trips outside the city, like to Statue Park.over 4 years ago
