On a journey to visit an old friend....

So, my best friend moved to Redmond, WA to work for Microsoft. I decided that I needed to not just visit him there, but drive there from Pennsylvania. Not only was I going to drive there, but I was going to hit every state I had never been to along the way. As Washington was the midway point for my trip, I was getting pretty burnt out. But let me tell you, I saw things in Washington that just made me happy. Snow-capped mountains, a bald eagle sitting on a light post, NINTENDO!, Microsoft, Seattle, used book stores, the list goes on! I had such a wonderful visit. Everything from the Washington sillouhettes on the state route signs, to something as simple as a town named George (George, Washington). What a wonderful mid-point!

T+L conference a success!

I just returned from Seattle where I attended the T+L conference. The conference was enlightening, but this is about the city. The city is clean, serene and beautiful. The people have a tough exterior. Unfortunately, I’ve never seen so many panhandlers and meth heads.
Places worth visiting include the Harbour, Pike’s Market (caution “low flying fish”), Over 150 starbucks and The Space Needle. The city is extremely expensive but worth visitig for a few days.
If your a carnivor you can forget eating. Every resturant we went to was fish and organic veggies!

Another trip down the drain...

I was supposed to go to Seattle last weekend to visit my friend Katie, and I was so terribly excited. We were planning, and I was going to get to see one of my good friends… and I got a great rate on the flight! It was going to be perfect. Two weeks before my trip, I got laid off from my job… I had thought that I would still go on the trip… but I talked to the people at my previous job, and they only way they would rehire me is if I started immediately… so Seattle had to be put on hold. I am so disappointed. I was really looking forward to it.

A year of canceled trips… meh.

A review of this place: Born and raised in Seattle, living in CA

Seattle is not only a fabulous place to visit, but a great place to live. I have met people who are not from Washington and say they have visited Seattle and if circumstances allowed, would choose to live there. I have never met anyone who is from Washington and didn’t want to continue to live there. Although I live in LA for school, I too plan on returning. I love the NW culture!

I'm going!!!

Owing to the fact that I had to cancel my trip to Koln due to a family emergency… I have been a bit restless with the travel bug. When I saw a really cheap fare to Seattle in a few weeks, I decided to snap it up. One of my friends from high school/college is working on her Phd in Seattle, so I am going to visit her in April. She came to visit me when I was studying in Florence, and we had a marvelous time together. I also have a lot of family up in the area, so perhaps I will get to see them as well! I couldn’t be more excited! I’m going for a long weekend. The only thing I have on my agenda so far is Pike’s Market. If anyone has any suggestions, I will definitely take them!

I loved it

I was kind of crazy when I left college. I moved to Puyallup to be closer to a guy I was in love with who was in the army. We split up while I was there, but there was so much majesty and the landscape is picturesque. The people I met weren’t very friendly, but it might have just been where I was located. Seattle was fun. The underground tour was really neat. I went to see Mt. Rainier and Mt. St Helens. I spent a good amount of time working in Seattle Center three blocks from the Space Needle and the Puget Sound was absolutely breathtaking.

I grew up here

Two years later and I’m in freakin’ Pensacola Florida. I’d murder my grandmother to live here again…
