Missouri aka: MO

So, I used to teach German in Scranton, Pennsylvania. While doing so, I wrote a letter of recomendation for a student of mine to go to school at Drury in Springfield, Missouri. So, while on my cross-country trip, I decided to check in and see just what he was up to. I was pleasantly surprised by what I saw in Missouri. The people were nice, the steak burgers were good, and I managed to find an old game of RISK! That combined with our visit to Bass Pro Shops made for an excellent visit!

I live in St. Louis and, frankly, it’s not my favorite place. The St. Louis Zoo is pretty cool, though.

Was to get liquor. Arkansas was a dry place :)

I’ve been to Missouri twice now. Both times for camp when I was younger. I had a blasty-blast. It was called Freedom Camp. It was a church camp but I had more fun there than any other camp I’ve ever been to. That and all my friends from my church youth group went w/ so it was prety kewl.

All I got to see was the gateway arch, because we were driving through the state & I don’t think I’ll ever forget it :) I’d love to go back and visit longer some day.

We hiked around the Mark Twain National Forest, just north of Eureka Springs, AR. It was really pretty, although there wasn’t any fall color yet.

i only went to the arch on the way to Ft. Leonardwood. interesting but not in a hurry to go back.

My friend got married in St. Louis, which was cool. Sadly his stupid ass got married at the Danial Boone church (or something Boone) in mid-July with no air conditioning. I had fun, was happy for the blushing couple, but Christ it was hot.

Still, the St. Louis bar scene is cool.

Branson Missouri is the best place ever!! I love Silver Dollar City.

For some reason when my family and I were in St. Louis, whenever anyone found out we were from Wisconsin it seemed that either they were from around there or had family from around there, or knew somebody from there… Friendly folks bit annoying after a while though.
