Kansas aka: KS

I lived in white city and Herington. My second child was born here.

I only went to Kansas because it wasn’t too far out of the way. I’m on a road trip to Seattle where I want to visit every state (lower 48) in my “Nused” 2004 Screaming Yellow Mustang. I planned a route that would get me there, but not really allow me to see all too much. Well Kansas was one of the states, like Nebraska, that I just did not have time to fully explore. I only saw the part of Kansas that butts up on Kansas City.

The plains of Kansas are enormously windy,blew my little toyota around like a plastic toy.You can see miles ahead of you as the wind kicks up small dirt tornadoes,dozens of them bounce along the plains in the distance

Last time I came through Kansas, all the trees were bowed down to the ground with frost. Next time I come through here, I’m gonna see that ball of twine!

My kitty ran away when we went through here on out way from CA to PA :(

When I think of Kansas I think of a small town of log cabins, a church, and a bar. Like the western town in the movie Far and Away (good movie if you haven’t seen it). I also think of a million acrea of wheat fields. I want to go to clear up my log cabin misconceptions.

If you are anywhere near Kansas City, Go down to the Plaza, absolutely, almost pathetically Romantic(not from experience),all of the Fountains are lit up at night and there is always live music going on, walk along the river in the moonlight( it’s a must)

At least it wasn’t Nebraska, but it still blows. Flat and not much to see…..............
