US 20
US 20 is an excellent alternative to the Indiana Turnpike. It’ll save money and keep you from getting bored. Especially in Eastern Indiana!

If you’re in west central Indiana, you have to spend at least one day, if not a few, at Turkey Run State Park. You should also check out the murals at the Fountain County Courthouse in Covington. If you’re an antique lover, you will find great authentic antiques at unbelievable prices on the square in Covington. Make sure you get a fried pork tenderloin sandwich while you’re in town…mmmmmmm!

I lived in Fort Wayne for a few years and have some good friends there. My son who is now twelve was born there at ST. Joseph hospital. It has some really good places to eat. Kaysans, Casa De Angelos and Banditos

Bloomington is surprising! Great, thriving community – neat places to eat and shop. Nice lake – spend a lazy afternoon there.
Best place to be if you are in IN!

I lived here for nearly 7 years! i was in Pike Township and then i moved to Franklin Township (really great place). Downtown is really relaxed. For the new year, people go Downtown and the bell rings. TJMAXX is an awesome place to shop at. Great restaurants like the Hard Rock Cafe.

The Amish are personal friends of my family. Although I haven’t lived there for 8 or 9 years, when I did live there they cared for my children.
They are lovely people, but I’m finding there is a huge break down in the religious side of things. They are now becoming Christian Amish or Staunch Amish.
Many of the children are leaving the Staunch Amish side of things and going Christian Amish. Still they are lovely people.
The children are not only leaving, the brethren are shunning some of the children and these children’s families, for reasons like bike riding (they are not allowed to operate machinery with rubber wheels), for reading the King James Version of the bible, for speaking English in the church, for getting hearing aids for the young ones, and the like.
I do have to say that this is what is being found in Parke County. I can’t speak for other counties in Indiana and Illinois.
In general, I have found them lovely people and devoted friends.
