Galicia aka: Galiza

I loved Galicia. There’s something magic about it… Sometimes you feel like you are in Hobbiton other times you feel like you are in the little gaule village (Asterix!)... in any case it’s incredible green and beautiful and people are.. amazing. I just loved it.

A little bit of gaelic influence…green spaces…but also so much more than that. I actually stayed in a little town called Sada outside La Coruna, right on the ocean and absolutely beautiful! I completely fell in love with both the town and La Coruna and all the people there were so amazing! I had asuch an amazing experience there, I highly recommend it!!

It was my first time going outside of my city in october 2003, spent the weekend with my friend nuria in a 2 star hotel, we saw a lot of nice places (sanxenxo, vigo, etc) and of course we went shopping!

my mom’s family is from galicia and my current spanish teacher is helping me to learn a little more gallego. hopefully i’ll be there during college, junior year abroad!

Really love Galicia. Such a memorable place. Love the scenes on the way to Lisbon, Portugal from Galicia by bus too. Galicia is underrated.

Although I live in the north of Portugal, I spend much of my time in Galicia, nowadays. For professional reasons, but also because I adore it. It just fells like home to me.

If you are thinking about visiting it, dont’t think twice. It is a great place, with great people, great food (believe me, when I say “great” I do mean it) and amazing places to visit.

So do it, you won’t regret it.
