Canarias aka: Canary Islands

Seems a great place to live in… peaceful, natural , the best weather, n modern…

In AP Spanish in high school, I did a project on the Canary Islands, and I’ve been fascinated with it ever since. I originally wanted to go here for my honeymoon, but that was just a little (okay, a lot) over budget. I love Spain; I love the beach. There is no way I won’t love the Canarias. In particular, I want to go to Lanzarote. I hear it looks like the moon. :-O

My father’s family was from The Canary Islands. The story says that they were in the input/export business. Some of them emigrated to Cuba back when the railroad was being built. There were two brothers that stayed in Cuba. One continued in the same business and did very well for himself. The other started his own business away from the family and was disinherited. My dad is one of eleven children from the disinherited side of the family. This is partly where I get my stubbornness from. :)

We ate at a resteraunt that (of course) didn’t open until 2pm and had the WORLD’S best braised lamb and fry cut potatoes in our lives!!
Remember the siesta rule, or you’ll never get breakfast…and everyone is sooo friendly so bring your smiles

And I agree with people who say Canary Islands is a place to visit. Here we have a great variety so after 10 years exploring Tenerife there are many places I don’t know yet!

I think Tenerife is not the most worth-a-visit island (maybe because it’s my island) but La Palma is. La Palma island is the most beautiful of all Canary Islands!

Anyway, all the islands worth a visit, even for people from other islands like me!

Not much to write home about – I’ve only been to Tenerife – But Geologically it’s fascinating – And the sun shines a lot.

Ive been to gran canaria once and tenerife twice. Wonderful.
