Açores aka: The Azores

This place, particularly Sao Miguel, is beautiful, fun, and amazing! The people are (mostly) friendly and have a zest for life. During the five or six times I’ve visited, I can honestly say that I’ve had the most amazing experiences ever.
I can’t say anything about the hotels because I’ve always ever stayed with family. But the food is great (some of the best you’ll ever have). The shopping is great.
And the sights are absolutely breathtaking!

As an active duty Air Force member, I’m currently stationed here…and it’s the most beautiful place on Earth. And I’ve seen enough of the Earth to make that claim. Pictures do not do this place justice.

That said…there’s not a lot to “do”. The beauty is enough for me…I couldn’t be happier. But if you’re looking for nightclubs and malls and a McDonalds, this is NOT the place for you. It’s very laid back, very calm, and very undeveloped.

But I couldn’t be happier here!

I don’t want to go here anymore… Mostly because my reaons for wanting to in the first place was based on a transatlantic flight a few years back, when the skies were clear and the Azores were clearly visible through the window of the plane.

But then everything looks pretty from up high doesn’t it?

I wanna see if it’s really Atlantis. I will find out.

I found out about the Azores during a theatre class when my partner suggested we “sell” the Azores to the class. He started describing the enchanting beauty and mystery of the Azores and I was sold. I have done more research on it since and honestly cannot wait to actually go there! :)

my portuguese heritage is from the Azores… it was my vis avo’s mother that came here to america.. it would be so awesome to see the azores

Don’t they say the Azores are the remains of Atlantis?
