In the UAE I went to Dubai, now I’ve been here a few times before but I must say it just keeps growing and growing every time I go!!! Its a place I will continue to travel to as much as I can as there is much going on. From the hotels to the amusement parks being built this place will be the equivalent of Las Vegas in a few years.

Gold, rugs, night-clubs, ‘safari’ trips… Fun, but not that special. I did get to ride a camel.

Not my place

I lived there for two years in the Abu Dhabi Emirate. The people there were very friendly and always helpful. It’s just something you have to experience to understand.

If you’re there between October and February, I highly recommend the Global Village festival they have annually. It is a lot of fun to go to.

It’s scary how fast this place is growing! Look out New York!

I was just here for work and to visit family. I enjoy the city and though it’s a nice place to visit, it’s not a great place to live. It’s a little bit wrapped up in material things to really enjoy yourself for any length of time. It’s nice if you want to live the “high life” for a short period of time. I partied with millionaires and drove in vehicles that I have never even SEEN in my home country.
I realize after my visit, that I don’t need these things to be happy any more, and there are many things I can do instead that will make me just as happy and cost a lot less.

Went to the UAE for a business trip at a construction site. Most of my time was spent in a camp in the middle of the desert, but I did get the opportunity to get into both Abu Dhabi and Dubai on a few weekends. The highlights were the indoor skiing at the Mall of the Emirates in Dubai, and deep sea fishing in Abu Dhabi.

When I was working for a company in Sharjah.

Was for my honeymoon. It was fantastic despite the fact that it was ramadan and the president had just died and we couldn’t drink anywhee and a lot of themarkets etc were closed in mourning.
We stayed at the one and only hotel and booked through kuoni.
This was pure decadence, everything was so beautifull, we were treated like royalty and I have no complaints at all about any aspect. it was truly amazing.
