Turkey aka: Turkiye

I really hope I can get to Turkey sooner and see all the wonderful sights it has to offer. Any Indians who’ve been to Turkey, I’d like to hear from you…

I never knew much about Turkey until I discovered one of my favourite photographers. I had no idea the country was so lovely! I need to see it for myself.

I lived in Turkey for 6 years, and it was amazing.

I just got back from my trip to Turkey and I absolutely loved it. Of course, I could only see a tiny part of it in 2,5 weeks. But already this tiny bit was incredibly diverse. We saw Istanbul, with its parks packed with people just after dusk during Ramadan. Ancient sites of Troy and Ephesus. Battlefields of Gallipoli. Beaches of the southern coasts. And the magical Goreme. Though you get hassled a bit when you’re in Istanbul or visit any touristy site, if you politely turn people down they’ll usually leave you be. Otherwise, Turkish people are incredibly friendly. You’ll get offered more cay (tea) than you could possibly drink and everybody is interested in your trip and wether you love Turkey as much as they do themselves.

Beautiful place… hot country…

It’s so busy wwith people from markets haggling, only scary thing though was the amount of men who asked to marry me!!!! :o

Enjoyed the grand Mosque and museums, the county has a great history to share and specifically the civilization of the Ottoman Empire, one of the greatest civilizations of the world.

The Blue Guides series is the best travel series if you want historical depth.

The Turkish people are so warm and nice. They really know how to flatter a woman, they know how to run a business.
The city of Istanbul is gorgeous. Visit it!
