Government?

I was afraid or uncomfortable with the politics of this country, but I went anyway and I am so glad I did – after all I don’t even like my own government’s foreign policy, and who am i to “throw the first stone”? the people, sights, adventures, and everything else about this country is FANTASTIC!

Why I want to go to this place

APRIL ‘08 I CAN’T WAIT!! I’m going to Hong Kong for the first time in April, only a month away from departure date. Not really sure what to expect. I hear a lot of mixed things from the people I have met who have been to Hong Kong. Everyone on this site seems to have pretty positive things to say. I’m a little worried about the language barrier. I’ll post as many pics as I can when I get back!

How this place changed my life

I am a Chinese girl being brought up in the UK. I wasn’t interested in my backgrpound before because…well, to be honest, i think i was because I didn’t want to be classified as ‘different’ and so avoided learning about my background…at least I think that’s hat I was doing as a child(?)...

But now that I’m a bit older, I’m finally embracing it. Our family went to China a few Christmasses ago and now I definately want to go back. I personally thought many aspects of life there were the same as here(in England) and homely, like England. But perhaps that’s because I have experienced both cultures before. (Does anyone know what I’m talking about?!) Anyhow, it has encouraged me to learn a ot more about my culture and also I’ve become more interested in Asian coutries overall. I’d like to go back at some point and visit countries such as Japan and N. and S.Korea

The last time I went to this place

its amazing! it really is. i absolutely love everything about, both good and bad. as a chinese person by heritage, i understood most of the people there and got a chance to experience how people lived in a country that was so close to my heart, yet so far away. the bustle of city and the beauty of countryside just tears you away from any experiance in America. everyone should definitely try to go there at least once in their lifetime.
