Haiti

I met a really awesome friend about a year ago named Izzy. His parents are missionaries who lived in Haiti for almost all of Izzys childhood. He tells me stories about the need for the message of Jesus to be spread in this country along as their phisical needs. I feel a calling from God on my heart to host a mission trip to Haiti and become connected to that mission for a lifetime. One day on God’s time and in Gods will…...I will go! :)

Despite all of the negative depictions of haiti in the media, haiti is a country that you will never forget whether it may be because of the unique language, finger licking food, the beaches, the music… take a chance and get expose to life…

yes there is so much proverty but remember there is a beautify in everything. The population is not limited to just the natives, you will find all sort of people from different races living in the country and speaking the creole.

So the ultimate challenge is to form your opinon…just go

I went for a missions trip, and it was an eye opening experience. I loved it and I can’t wait to go back!

I went on a mission trip here… It would take me hours to tell you everything I loved about this place. All in a nut shell, I had a near death experience with fire coral, first marriage proposal, two spider bites, and fell in love with the children. I worked in the orphanage. I recommend going to Haiti.

There’s a teacher at my school that goes to Haiti at least once every year and brings a few students with her. They do volunteer work and give money to charities there. I’m going to see if I can go with them next year. For a while this year, a student from Haiti came to our school.

i have my first 8 years of life in Haiti and loved every minute of it! i wish we could have stayed, but couldn’t.(long story)

This was one of our cruise stops and it was gorgeous!
They set up a private picnic area for everyone on our ship and it was really convenient.

However, I would like to go back as a servant of Christ… to share anything I can with the people in poverty over there. I feel terrible.

Evil. Sorry to say it, and I guess it was a long time ago. But the brand of catholocism in haiti that includes voodoo is just plain crazy.

One of my younger brothers was adopted from Haiti, and the more I learn about it the more I want to go. Well, actually, the more I want to go later, but I really do want to see it and help out there in some way.
