How this place changed my life
I was the first time I had left the United States and it was certainly different from the U.S. though in some ways quite similar.

I went to Panama over Christmas/New Years’ 2007/2008. This was by far the best vacation I’ve ever taken. I went to Costa Rica in 2005, and it was NOTHING compared to Panama. One great thing about the entire country of Panama is that there are far less tourists here than in Costa Rica. Everywhere I went in Costa Rica, there were English-speakers butting into line, and asking me questions. However, in Panama, it was far more laid back, with few fellow tourists, allowing me to really absorb the culture. I traveled all over the country, so please feel free to contact me with any questions you may have!

The people are so friendly and the land scape is beautiful. You can also go pretty cheaply.

It was split by the Canal Zone, when I lived there from ‘71-’75. I sort of grew up there. It is a magical place that you never get over.

Last time i was here I reluctantly went BUTTERFLY catching. Well the butterflies were a bit shy but we did manage to get a hold of a 15 foot bright green python. The jungle is so full of life everywhere you look. But when I was there we had to be cautious of “gorilla fighters”, but I think they are long gone by now.
