over 4 years agoMy cousin’s wife is from Macedonia. It is a poor country, and she moved to Chicago with her aunt to go to school here. She met my cousin at Loyola University, and they got married last summer! The language is difficult, but I’ve learned a few words and phrases. I would eventually love to go here, experience the culture, and learn more about my new extended family.
over 5 years agoI like Macedonia, but.. well, I have to visit it once again. To know it better.
over 6 years agoYears ago, I went sailing on a Norwegian tall ship between France and Norway. On board I met quite a few people from the Balkan countries, including Macedonia. I’ve wanted to see this country since then.
over 6 years agoi went to Struga and Ohrid on Lake Ohrid.
didnt get a massive feel for the country as was only there a week. seemed quite western as i visited whilst living in Albania. it reminded me slightly of Bavaria big lake swimming in the summer, skiing in the winter. i stayed with a local family who were very nice, and taught English to some great kids.
would definitly go back
