Morocco aka: Al Maghrib

My father and entire paternal family lives in Mohemmedia. I want to go to see the place where my father grew up, meet all of my aunts and uncles and visit the graves of my grandparents.

It’s a good way to stay in the country for a while and schools are easy to find there. It seems like there’s a lot of paperwork to get on, but it’s all sort of rubber stamped, so there’s really not much involved in working legally there, and you do want to probably be legit since you’ll make a decent wage that way.

Lots to do and see. The cities are fun but the true beauty of Morocco in my opinion is in the rugid country side in the north near the Atlas mountains. The desert and the south is worth a visit as well, but be prepared for the culture shock that comes with seeing an extreme class divide in action.

my best friends are getting married here in September

It was summer, so not the high season, and even then the place was amazing, with relaxed days by the pool, wine, great dinners, mint tea. Dar Marjana in the center of the old city of Marrakesh is a real gem. Make reservations. They have a courtyard where you can have aperitifs and during and after dinner there is traditional music and belly dancers. Not at all kitschy. It is the epitome of everything good about Morocco. I’ve been twice and I definitely want to go back!

Even it`s name sounds somewhat exotic and mysterious. It may be just my imagination.. but I would like to visit my dream:)

I want to go to Morocco and Tunisia SO BAD I can barely stand it! Saharan and Sun-Saharan Africa hold no charm for me, but North Africa seems so amazing. Rabat, Fez, Marrekech, Meknes, and Casablanca… then off to Tunis. The architecture makes my heart go pitter-patter.

22 days….great hash…watched Saddam hang on Al Jazeera…got blood on my pants from ritual sheep beheadings in Kasbah…had to lie about my ethnicity…was harrassed quite a lot, sometimes violently…was robbed….try the mint tea….mmmm
