Fascinating place. Take one of long the hoseback rides to see some of the countryside. It’s pretty cold in the southern winter time!

Loved Lesotho. The scenery is mind-blowing and the people are so friendly.

Watch out for drunken friday nights though!

After hitch hiking up the Sani Pass (May 2000) and getting a lift into the country (from the ‘backside’), I felt like I was literally in heaven while sitting in the back of a pickup truck watch the sunset on snow covered mountains. Pure amazement, and a big adventure!

I want to dance in the rhythmic firelight

I’ve got the most ethereal memories of Lesotho: A drive up a very steep pass with a Scot in deep fog; hash-enriched mulled wine, then a stunning clear and cold morning watching the clouds slouch back down the escarpment revealing the martian terrain we had come from. Felt like being on top of the world, more so than Tibet where those annoying Himalayas get in the way of a good view over Nepal and India.
