Liechtenstein aka: Lichtenstein

Went for a football match can’t think of many reasons to visit unless you want to deposit a lot of money in the bank but it’s worth visiting to see such a small country and I’d rather live there than Switzerland.

Interesting from a philatelist’s point of view, I want to visit tiny Liechenstein and buy stamps and postcards from local post office. I’ll send the postcards and keep the extra stamps. :D

great coffee and shopping in vaduz! what i found really funny was the map of liechtenstein in the center of the capital. it is like 1 square meter big and it actually shows all the individual houses in the country ;)

It is so relaxing – and worth a visit, especially if you live in Europe. I can understand why others would think it was a waste to stop here if you have a limited time or are on a short 2 week trip, since it’s kind of hard to get to.

This is a beautiful and relaxing little country with loads of charm. Don’t come here expecting loads of entertainment – the natural beauty is plenty!

Definitely stop at the Prince’s vineyard (Hofkellerei) it is one of the most beautiful places you can imagine. While you are there get some wine to ‘export’ since you aren’t able to buy this outside of Liechtenstein. It is on the ‘main drag’ before you get to downtown Vaduz if you are driving south.

Another surprising thing was that Swarovski crystal is headquartered here.

Don’t forget to get your passport stamp for 2€ at the tourist office.

We are leaving Saturday morning -I’ll be sure to take a lot of beautiful photos!

I’d love to bike across the country, drink the exclusive wine that isn’t exported, and of course get the quintessenial passport stamp.

We are thinking about heading here in the coming weeks! I’m sure it will be a pleasant time. Perhaps we will even run into the prince!

drove through Liechtenstein on the way to Switzerland. Got a stamp in my passport (1.50 at the post office) had to rush there before if closed. Pretty cool small country with cows and sheep in peoples yards.

Comes in small packages. This place is small, but cute! Don’t forget to take a picture of the reigning castle!

We got off the train at the last stop in Switzerland (Buchs) and walked from one side of Liechtenstein to the other, then got back on the train in Feldkirch, the first stop in Austria. It’s the way to go really – how many people can say they’ve walked across an entire country?

Also, if you’ve got a bit of time, hike up into the mountains. There’s not much going on in the towns, but there are some beautiful hiking trails running through the country.
