Germany aka: Deutschland

I’m so glad I went..but now I wish I hadn’t left. I got back 3 days ago, and I still feel out of place back home. I need to get back to Germany as soon as I learn more of the language and save more money!

I actually visited Frankfurt on accident, after missing my connecting flight to Houston. But I did see a bit of the city and thought it was very clean and modern. I would prefer to see some of the smaller towns and the countryside, when hubby and I go back for a proper visit.

Well it could have been better but for the most part I had a pretty good time in Hamburg for Wacken 2008. I can’t blame the country for me not being able to meet up with friends at the festival but everyone that encountered was very friendly and helpful. I’d definitely like to go back in the future.

I stayed with a German family in Amorbach, and we went to a lake, and they were smoking pot and drinking and stuff. Because it’s a lot more relaxed over there, and people do it more casually.

i went to most of the major cities over a tour with my friend’s band… berlin was my favorite, beautiful city. nice people and good times.

I lived in Germany/Austria for 11 months, and this was perhaps the greatest time of my life, being able to both travel across Europe and study at the University of Vienna. My German ancestry and desire for a minor in the language while in college lead me here, and I wish to return again soon…

Being from German heritage, and specially being the one interested in our family tree, genealogy, etc; I’ve always dreamed of one day visiting the land of my ancestors. When I finally did in 1999, I felt as if the circle of “who I am and where I come from” finally came to a full close. I’m happy I did have the chance to go to Germany, and hope I can go back again someday soon!!!

I have visited a few different cities in germany and it is absolutely beautiful. I loved it and would definately travel there again. Plus the food was great!
