The beach is AMAZING. During the winter months down there, the waves are strong but so great to be in. The city of Rio is cultural and there is so much to explore. I did a tour in the Favelas and met some cool people. I want to go back to Rio as well as visit the Igassu Falls!

I love the mountains – I love the sea – And what better than the menacing mountains just beside the great sea!!! Never been to South America. Brazil is the place I want to be – Not alone – Either with family or with friends or with just a friend ;)

The land area of Brazil extends over 8.5 million square kilometers, occupying just under half (47%) of the area of Latin America. The country possesses 20% of all the world’s biodiversity; an example of this natural wealth is the Amazon Rainforest, with 3.6 million square kilometers. The political and administrative organization comprises three main Branches of Power: the Judiciary, the Executive and the Legislative, and the principle of autonomy among the Union, the Federal District, 26 states and 5,563 towns and cities.
Ranking fifth among the world’s most populated countries, the population of Brazil amounts to 50 million families or approximately 180 million inhabitants (2004), the majority – 81% – in urban areas. The national birth rate, which reached as high as 6.3 in 1960, currently stands at 2.1 children per female. The result of this decline, which can be associated to an improvement in social indicators and consequently in quality of life, will be a population whose majority of citizens will be aged between 15 and 44 years within the next four decades. This will represent one of the largest job and consumer markets among the countries on the American continent.

I discovered what committing to myself meant – my health, my art, my life, because of my travels in this country. From the passionate theater and dance scene to capoeira to the freshest, most delicious fruit EVER.. I can say it truly changed my life.

Don’t try to see too much in one trip: stick to a region, like Sao Paulo, Iguazu Falls & beaches around Sao Paulo state. Or Bahia and Lencois. Or Manaus and the Amazon. Or Olinda/Recife and Fernando de Noronha.
Want to visit Brazil during carnaval? Consider going north to either Salvador de Bahia or Olinda. The further north you go, the more you actually ‘participate’ in the festivities.

Brazil is one of my favorite places, the people are so nice and fun! I went with my ex-husband, he is from Brazil, we went for two months. I had just got out of the Army and Brazil really helped me chill after my bad time in South Korea.
Awesome place!

I’m not a sports person but I always said that if ever went to see a soccer match (pardon me rest of the world), it would be in South America. This year I am going to Brasil to celebrate Japanese immigration there. My one Brasilian friend moved out of the country but I’ve been in contact with distant relatives so I’m glad I’ll have some local input. Even though I know the trip will be brief and not see much of so large a country, I am very excited at the prospects of the scenery, music, food, and futebol!
