Went here for two weeks in June 2009, for a roadtrip. Me and a friend drove 7000 km with a hired van (wickedvans).
Arrived in Darwin and drove through the middle (Alice Springs), saw the Uluru rock, which set us back A$ 25 each, not really worth it unless you’re spending more than half an hour there.
Got a leaking roof in Adelaide, got it fixed in Melbourne, stayed there for a few days… seemed to be like the “great america” of the 21st century for people from middle east, south east asia and pacific… something like 3000 new residents each week.
Drove along the coast to Philip Island, which wasn’t very interesting for some guys in their early 20’s… though a pretty girl worked at the local supermarket.
Drove up along the coast to Sydney, which was much more expensive than melbourne but less exciting.

I lived here for 3 1/2 years when i was a kid…... i miss australia :( i really recomend visiting it, if anyone if just kinda thinking about it XD

I had a fantastic three months down under. The people are very hospitable. The nightlife was fun. The places to visit were fantastic.
I had a life time experience.

I live here and I would recommend it to anyone! Beautiful scenery, lovely people, crazy but great wildlife and as much culture as you could want…

But I’d recommend my hometown of Melbourne before I’d recommend Sydney!

I had my entire trip planned, and I was leaving in a week in November 2008… Unfortunately, my doctor discovered a tumor, and I had to have emergency surgery a few days before I was supposed to leave. Because of the nature of the surgery and the timing, I had to cancel my trip to Australia.

It’s really too bad, but hopefully I’ll make it back one day.

obviously there is lots more to see, but I just spent the week with a good friend I hadn’t seen for several years. We visited the aquarium, featherdale wildlife park, went whale watching, and went to the greyhound races at wentworth park.

I went to Sydney to visit with family and friends… had a blast!

an exchange student is here at my university from the Melbourne area. she said that there are big bugs.. and i’m terrified of certain bugs.

is it possible for me to go and be alright? i’m worried now that i won’t ever be able to go…

It has the great barrier reef and i am excited by places near the sea. Going underwater should be fun! Morover my brother lives in Sydney – we should ot have to spend on food and stay – but the moneys to travel??? Want to do it by May 2009
