For the major city in Benin, Cotonou does get very quiet at night. I remember coming home by taxi-moto one night with friends, scooting through deserted streets, lightly foggy, so softly silent except for the sound of the motorcycle. As usual, we were packed with three of us on the taxi-moto, aside from the driver, since it was the only one around and so late…
over 5 years agoLived here for a couple years, on campus at the University of DaLat. Memories of getting up at 5am to practice karate while the sun rose. Student “camping” games every year. Great xoi in the mornings at a little corner street market. Art house coffee shops where you could sit all evening and people watch. Met amazing people who I am still in touch with and learned so much.
