Richmond

Not worth visiting!

I'll never return

I went to college in Richmond. God, it’s a depressing town.

Hotel for Pilgrims

This is the place to stay in Bodh Gaya. Don’t be cheap when it’s time to leave a donation for your stay. (it was 12 years ago that I stayed there – but the memory is vivid)

Brattle Theatre

Worth visiting!

Real Popcorn

Real popcorn, popped fresh just before the show starts, with real melted butter – I used to work there – they just take big sticks of butter, melt ‘em and pour it on the pop corn. Awesome.

Toscanini's

Worth visiting!

Best in Massachusetts

Boston and Cambridge have a lot of great ice cream shops, but Tosci’s is the best. Mmmm.. burnt caramel….

Belize Zoo

Worth visiting!

Low key Zoo

This zoo is not spectacular, but it has such a good low-key feel. it’s hard to decribe. even the animals seem mellow an relaxed. In some ways it’s my favorite zoo. It’s worth going for a walk in the parkland near by as well.

Cali

Worth visiting!

Adoption story

I visted Cali in November 2001 for two weeks two adopt my son who was 7 weeks old at the time. It was one of the most memorable times of my life, and partly because Cali was a city where people we encounteed went out of their way to make us feel welcome, and to protect us in a time when the city wasn’t very generally seen as a safe place. I feel a lot of love for Cali and CaleƱos.

Lobby 7

Worth visiting!

Lobby 7

Coming into work through Lobby 7 gets me in the mood to have Big Ideas, and do Cool Stuff. It’s great monumental architecture – a monument to science and technology in this case. Having coffee in the cafe there is also fun – you’ll sees everyone at MIT walk through the lobby if you wait long enough. Great light.

Emac & Bolios

Not worth visiting!

Lousy service and food, but comfy with free wifi

The coffee and Ice cream are over priced and poorly made. There are rarely enough people working there, but it’s comfy and a lot of locals hang out there – especially laptop toting locals soaking up the free wifi.

Fenway Park

Worth visiting!

Fenway - a neighborhood that happens to have a ball park

I grew up in the Fenway, and there’s a lot more than the Ball Park on it’s edge. TheFenway stretches from Kenmore Square to Mass Ave, over to Huntigton, include the Museum of Fine Arts and Northeastern. Running through the middle is the city park known as the Fens, with the Muddy River running through it.

Little Stevie's Pizza

Worth visiting!

70s style pizza place

It’s been there at least 30 years, and it’s barely changed. I used to play donkey kong here between slices of pizza when I was a kid. Full of hoodlums and music students from Berklee and the conservatory. Pizza’s good too.
