I mean, the falls are kind of pretty, but the whole town is kind of sketchy, really. It’s kind of like trying to combine Tijuana, Las Vegas, and a national park all in one…

I really enjoyed Talkeetna. It’s pretty, has an amazing view of the mountains, and just feels comfortable and friendly.

I was here in the summer, which was nice, but I like hiking, so I really kind of prefer mountain resorts in the summer.

I lived here for 3 years, but had visited family in the area many other times. It’s really beautiful.

It was interesting, but I’d much rather see other parts of the country.

Lots of Korean school children seem to come here on field trips, or so my family found. They also are really enthusiastic about practicing their English on anyone who appears western. The one downside for some Americans might be that it can be hard, sometimes, to find tours of the sites in English. My parents and I just went on a Korean one, since we mostly wanted bus transportation to the places, but we lucked out in running into a man who had gone to an American School in Taiwan when he was younger, who translated everything for us. Like everywhere in Korea in the fall, it was absolutely beautiful.

The coast is really pretty. Oddly enough, this is the only place I’ve ever had Argentinian food…

But still an interesting place to visit. The market was nice—not insanely crowded like in Seoul, so my mom and I could actually look around without worrying. The surrounding countryside was really beautiful when we were there in October a few years back.

This is where I went to high school. It’s very pretty, especially the southern part. Nice parks.

I grew up there, basically, and there’s honestly quite a lot to do if you know what to look for. I always liked the Ohio Theater.
