The thing that makes Latvia interesting is that it’s so very different from western-european countries. At least, that’s what did it for me. Yeah, and the fact that a friend of mine lived there helped.

Rīga may also be interesting but I’ve only visited that briefly (for going to the airport).

I’ve been here to visit a friend. That’s what made it fun. You can go there if you want to know an average Latvian city, but there’s not much to be excited about.
