South Carolina just has a feel to it, unlike any other place I’ve been. Good food, good people.

Western Maryland is like going to the Amazon. How in the world did that happen?

Indiana is much like Illinois: flat and boring. But it does have its moments. Indianapolis is a surprisingly vibrant city. And some of the really small towns (like Corydon) have a lot of character. And pretty much anywhere along the Ohio River is beautiful scenery.

Having to drive the state from top to bottom is an exercise in self-abuse. It’s straight, flat and yellow. Illinois is lucky it has Chicago or this whole place would get a thumbs down.

I drove through pretty much the entirety of this state en route to see a friend and I was surprised by how quaint and pretty it was. Go see it; it doesn’t take long.

...but God help me if I ever have to live there.

And do they not have a Department of Transportation? The roads suck.

The grounds of the University are astounding and certainly worth seeing. But don’t stick around long enough for any of the trust fund babies with entitlement issues to wreck your good time.
