Naturally beautiful

Worth visiting because of its natural beauty.

I was only in Thule, but would have liked to have seen more.

This is one of my top spots because it is extreme, remote, and naturally beautiful…just bundle up! Once I was there in Feb. and it was -60 F in Thule….. Summer would be better.

Ascension Island, St Helena

Remote, Hard to get to but Worth it!

A tiny British owned Island in the South Atlantic. Nearest island is St. Helena. Best fishing anywhere!!!

Great hikes, beautiful private beaches! Less than 2,000 people live there. You can get there one of 2 ways.

1. RMS ST. HELENA (That is Royal Mail Ship St. Helena)- travels from England to Capetown S.Africa to St. Helena to Ascension and back.

2. Fly from Bright Norton Air base in England. I’m not sure I spelled the name of the base right. Sorry. I have never been there. I hear that you can buy a ticket on the military aircraft and fly there that way. It is much more expensive than the ship though.

Ascension has a small Inn with about 5 guest rooms and a few rental cars available. This would be a nice no frills holiday for outdoorsy, adventure seeking types. If you want luxury this is not it! There are a couple of charter boats to take you out fishing. Wahoo, Tuna, Mahi Mahi, Grouper, etc. And fabulous hiking. They have 36 letter box hikes. Ranging in time from 45 min. to 5 hrs. You can buy a little book at the gift shop with all the hikes and at the top of each one there is a letter box with a stamp in it for you to stamp that page in your book. The real avid hikers could try to collect them all! I only got 14!
