Galveston is lovely in winter. The sound of the surf and the birds, walking along the water. During the winter, it’s okay that the water and sand are grayish-brown. It seems appropriate.
For summer, I don’t know. Maybe if you are really a beach lover and don’t mind the slimy-feeling water and silty sand. Not for me, though.
over 5 years agoDo the tours to Delphi, Atrius’ Tomb, Delos. I’m not much of a tour person myself as I enjoy researching but here there is so much that you are bound to miss even having done your research.
The Intercontinental in Athens is a nice change of pace from the teensy and cheap places we usually choose, nice view of the Acropolis from many rooms, too.
Clean air and water, healthy activities, fresh food and really nice people, even when they are driving! I love this town and visit as often as possible.
