been there, been that! what a great place to live – it’s practically at the heart of metropolis manila…. i wish i can stay for forever….

fort santiago is worth the trip… a historical site thrice over. the old catholic churches – san antonio and the manila cathedral. at cafe isabel do not miss to try the sampaguita/jasmine ice cream.

the catholic church building hosts artworks of 5 national artists of the philippines. the building itself was designed by lindy locsin. the oblation is a national landmark. when you are there go to the “coop,” and try the sago-gulaman a refreshing drink made from sugarcane and local berries. try the kikyam and fish balls and the isaw! yummy!

probably one of the largest complex of rice terraces in the world. do hire a local to take you touring the rice paddies as well as the local village of the ifugaos. do not forget to try the local wine made from rice.
