Not worth visiting!

A tip I have about this place

It might be a nice place to visit for Riverfest or the County Fair. The shops downtown are also sometimes fun to visit. Other than that, there’s not really much to do, so don’t plan on staying long.

I lived here for 18 years. That’s about 17.5 years too long! haha

How this place changed my life

I live here eight months out of the year for college. It’s a great place to live! It’s just about the right size, there are lots of things to do, great shops, a nice homey feel to it, and the people are really nice here. I’m very glad I chose to come here.

Great for visitors, as well: check out Hotel Chequamegon, the Black Cat coffee house, The Daily Bread bakery, and the Deep Water Grille (restaurant and bar).

Germany

(in Europe)
many reasons...

I want to go to Germany for a few reasons.

1: to trace my family’s roots in the Schwarzwald (Black Forest)

2: to get some use out of my German language skills

3: to attend Oktoberfest and/or Karneval

4: to study or attend university (maybe?)

Antarctica

(in )
2007?

There’s an internship there working with penguins that I’d really like to get within the next couple of years. I just need to get some radio telemetry experience under my belt before I can apply.

I think I would probably pee my pants if I found out that I got to go. This, next to New Zealand, is my numero uno destination.

Why? I love penguins. And ice. It is therefore my dream.

Madison

Worth visiting!

Wisconsin Wetlands Association Conference

I went to a conference in Madison, stayed at the Best Western Inn on the Park (which is a great place to stay). The capitol is pretty much smack in the middle of everything. Monona Terrace, designed by Frank Lloyd Wright but built just a few years ago, is an amazing piece of architecture with a great view of the lake. One thing I found to be really great was the variety of restaurants to choose from. There are some standards, such as Chinese and Italian, but there are also more exotic choices, like Greek and Himalayan. There are some great shops as well, and the city is very vegetarian-friendly.
