It has the most inventive theatre and performance in Seattle, hands down. And it reminds me of the ever-fabulous Next Wave Festival at the Brooklyn Academy of Music, which is almost the only thing I ever miss about NYC.

Stay at Fattoria Basetto, a few towns away. Take the train to the far end of the Cinque Terre, and then hike all or part of the way back, along a cliffside path that is often fabulous and occasionally terrifying. Stop and wander in each of the five “lands,” marvelling at the colors. If you get sick of hiking, get back on the train.

So much change and modernization, so fast. It’s breathtaking, in more than one way.

The perfect sandwich is a lifelong, elusive search. Several of Eric’s lovely creations come close. The famous Drunken Chicken, the sliced pork loin, the ever-present cilantro and crusty bread. The parking spaces that always apppear empty, right in front of the Box … All so very nice.
