Pennsylvania

Worth visiting!

repping.

i never thought i’d miss my home state so much after moving away.

i always complained about how boring pa was and how i couldn’t wait to move out. now i realize, it’s a beautiful state with a ton of history. i’m from a suburb of allentown and i knew practically everyone in town. my family was well known in the area and i miss having that security. i miss my family and i miss my friends.

people need to give pennsylvania more of a chance. it’s not just a bunch of deer-hunting hicks around. we’re home to the liberty bell, hershey, dorney park, andy warhol’s work, and lancaster [amish country] among other historically exciting landmarks. gettysburg comes to mind and philadelphia was the first capital of the usa.

in my town alone, you could completely tell that there were stories to be told just by looking at some of the old homes and buildings. i’m proud to be a pennsylvanian and it will always be my home, no matter where i wind up. east side. <3

New York State

Worth visiting!

city that never sleeps.

I LOVE NEW YORK.

i am one of the privileged who got to stand on top of one of the twin towers before their unfortunate demise in 2001. beyond that, i’ve seen TONS of awesome sites in manhattan; metropolitan museum of art, times square, central park, empire state building.. plus i’ve also been to harlem, the bronx, and brooklyn. and i’ve been in the statue of liberty on ellis island.

if there’s one place to strive to see before you die, make new york it.

New Jersey

Worth visiting!

the airport sucks.

new jersey is cool. i like the boardwalk.. the beaches are slightly on the dirty side compared to maryland and california, but all in all, it’s a fun place. plus, trenton is home to aqua teen hunger force. =]

newark airport sucks though.

Maryland

weee!

i love maryland! the beaches are lovely and i had a lot of fun at the baltimore aquarium. my favorite memory from my early teens is walking on the beach at night with my two brothers and poking jellyfish with sticks haha. i also got my first body piercing [navel] in maryland when i was 11. it’s one of my favorite states. really a beautiful place.

Colorado

Worth visiting!

denver.

i live here. sometimes i like it, sometimes i don’t. true, there are a ton of culture-filled activities for a boring day, but i can only stomach so much pseudo-abstract “art” before i become weary. they literally have a huge dust pan with huge trash in front of one of the buildings.. that’s an art piece. interesting choice.. i guess i hadn’t been to any cities so “artistically advanced” before moving here.

the local people are very pleasant and although tourists are active, they’re not as entirely overwhelming as they were when i lived in las vegas. the weather is unpredictable and the wind is horrid, but the mountains are pretty.

there are a lot of hippies here.. i mean a ton. and a lot of drunks.. a LOT of bars.. also a lot of gays. i think it’s refreshing to see areas of the country where people are allowed to be themselves without fear, so props to denver for that.

i think denver is a big party scene and i think it’s home to a diverse selection of people. i miss my home state of pennsylvania, but i definitely don’t think colorado is all too bad. =]

Nevada

Worth visiting!

lived in las vegas.

i first visited las vegas for my 20th birthday in the late spring of 2006. i really liked it, so i moved there in january of 2007. let me tell you.. it’s a fun place to visit, but living there [especially when you’re not 21 yet] is not too great. the tourists can be unbearable and although, yes, there is always something to do.. it can get redundant. i moved after two months. i wouldn’t mind seeing it now that i’m 21, but otherwise.. nice place to visit, don’t live there.

California

Worth visiting!

Why I recommend this place to visitors

california is an amazing state. i have never felt so at home in another state [besides my home state of pennsylvania] in my entire life. the entire time i was there, i felt as though i could walk off of a movie set at any time. it’s beautiful. i stayed in anaheim near disneyland and visited several locations in orange county [huntington beach, newport beach, long beach] and los angeles [los angeles & hollywood]. the beaches are awesome. didn’t care much for disneyland, but the other attractions were more than plentiful. my hair even got thicker due to the beach air. i loved it and would love to see it again sometime.
