Two reasons. I watched the National Geographic’s Polarbear Cam video from the Tundra Buggies. And, I just met someone who went this year. They had a great time watching the bears gather before they went out on the ice.

Just a quick review:
It’s on Whitney Way on Madison’s West Side, north of the Beltline highway.
Large selection of great craft beers brewed right on site.
Amazing ribs with raspberry sauce.
Great atmosphere.

But I’m weak in the West.

Because this is where you go to “Prove it All Night”.

Was for Spring Training in 2003. We stayed at the KOA Kampground and drove to Mesa for Cubs games. The KOA is nice.

We had a very nice time. Garden of the Gods was amazing.

It didn’t look too much different than the first time.

Carving a mountain must be slow work.

Went to see Hemmingway’s grave.

was on a family vacation to California in 1972. I was 10 or 11 at the time, and seeing Alcatraz was a big thrill. I even got a t-shirt that said “Property of Alcatraz”. It was one of my favorites.

Most of my family still lives in Minnesota. I even own a little interest in some swampland in northern Minnesota.
