Just south of the city there is a natural lagune, where you can rent a surf board. Some years sinch I’v been there but then it was run by Germans with All new equipment.
At the outer boundry of the lagune there is a reef – do not fall of your board like I did and steped on a “porky pine” I stil have leftovers in my foot! (4-5 years ago)

over 5 years agoWe came in to Idra after a day of sailing (11 hrs by motor – no wind), and it was hot – damn hot. By the time we arrived – about 18.00 – the temperature was above 42 degrees C, and the humidity was extrem. In side the boat it was unbearable!
The water temp passed 32 deg C – and now wind.
Lovely place though very different architec. from the Cyclades white’n blue. More Italien with brick houses and red rooftops.
