Annapolis by the Chesapeak bay is a great town, with the Naval Academy being the most dominant feature. Small shops line the roads around the harbor has a quaint atmosphere.

US Colonial history in particular. Feels quite genuine despite the nature of the beast, and quite educational.

Beaches are great, though the touristy aspect of the island is less than ideal. The people are friendly however, and it’s a good atmosphere all around.

Venice is, well, Venice, and is incomparable. Getting lost in the narrow streets and alleys, coming upon little piaza with cafes, criscrossing the canals, watching the boat traffic on the Grand Canal, all quite magical.
Now if I can only go back during the Biennale, that’ll be quite something!

The beaches in Mykonos is quite wonderful, as you have to take a boat ride to get to the beaches, which really gives you a sense of separaton from the town. And the water and sand is just perfect, with a little beach hut serving simple food. Love to go back.

I grew up in HK till my early teens, and it’s a great place with many layers of experiences. It’s got a few things going for it: it’s very friendly to visitors in terms of infrastructures, it’s quite unique given its 50+ years of cultural mash-up, and you can explore the wide ranging way of life, from the filthy rich to the quite poor.
Just don’t expect alot of nature :-)
