Laughlin, Nevada

Untitled

…was my first time. It was kinda “blah” I was with my mom and I must have been the youngest person for about 50 miles around, and mom was the 2nd youngest. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a nice place and being along the river was cool, but it was too laid-back for me. The food was great and cheap, and the outlets across the street were nice, but still it felt like “Vegas for the aged”. I think it’s funny there’s a Harley convention there every year :)

Hotels are really cheap, we stayed for something like $5.99 a night – I kid you not – and we get postcards all the time for free weekends.

Note that we only saw one stop for gas between Barstow and The turnoff to Laughlin (near Needles) – there must have been more but we didn’t see any other gas stations, so fill up at the 1/2 way points.

Excalibur Hotel and Casino, Las Vegas Strip

See the “Knight’s Tournament” jousting/dinner show. Not that seating is assigned so be ther early! The show is great, but get into it, don’t just sit there watching, cheer and boo and yell random things, it’ll be more fun!

Disney's Aladdin - A Musical Spectacular, Disney's California Adventure

Untitled

It’s a great musical with awesome efecs and a wonderful cast. You have to see it to believe it!

Try and get in line at least a 1/2 hour before showtime. There is ground floor and upper level (no elevators) seating. Leaving the theater from an upper level afer the show can be a little hairy especially in the rain, but my mom can do it, if a little slowly.
