Raleigh, North Carolina

Untitled

I moved to Raleigh, NC from a small town in Texas where I reside again now. I experienced culture shock-if a 10yr old can. I ended up adapting and loving the city and surrounding cities and towns. Raleigh’s population is a mix of people from all over the U.S. as well as Raleigh natives. The mix makes it interesting. The city is not too big or small. It has so many things to do. There are museums, several high ranked colleges and universities. There are many theaters-some even sit you at tables and serve you food (dinner theaters). There is the Rose Garden that has an outdoor amphitheatre for local plays. The Rose Garden is beautiful-especially in peak seasons. There is the arboretum and the flea market on Hillsborough St. and one on Capital Blvd. I could go on and on. The first state fair I went too blew my mind-it was so huge-not like the small county fairs I was used to. I had never lived anywhere with so many restaurants and things to do. Bowling, putt putt, movie theaters, schools, universities ect…I hated to move after 18 years of living there. I miss Raleigh and will probably will move back one day soon.

Austin, Texas

Untitled

I recommend visiting the capital of Texas to anyone from Texas or other states. It has a lot of different places to visit. Visiting downtown offers some historical places. You will find historical information about the capital. There are great restaurants as well as great local clubs. Austin is the mecca for music lovers. There are great clubs that feature live bands. Many popular bands hold concerts there as well. It is a city with a low crime rate and friendly people. You will not be disappointed.

San Antonio, Bexar County

Untitled

I live in Texas so not too many places really attract me to visit. San Antonio is my favorite Texas city. There is so many places to visit and so many places to visit while there. Most importantly it is not expensive to visit. You have historical places like the Spanish Missions and the Alamo. There is my favorite place to visit-The River Walk. It is the tourist #1 place to visit. It is an area where stores, specialty shops, and Restaurants are located on each side of a river. You can take a boat ride on the river also. If you have kids there is a Sea World, Six Flags, and zoo to take them to. You can book a pass on a bus trip that will take you to all the local attractions like the Alamo and the missions and other areas of interest. I just moved back to Texas and plan to visit soon.
