Did the Rattlesnake Ledge trail. Got a fantastic view of the valley from the top. Very worth it!

I visited the Potala Palace my first day in Tibet. Climbing the steps up was really hard because I hadn’t yet acclimated to the high altitude. Anyhow, the visit to the Palace and the view of the city from the top was well worth the effort.

Just be sure you buy tickets beforehand. To protect the structure of the building, they restrict the number of tourists to 2300 per day and tickets sell out in advance.

I came here to catch the train to Tibet and eat a lot of mutton. Mission accomplished.

I was at the Belmont Stakes this weekend to see the historic win of the filly Rags to Riches. Actually, I take that back. I saw most of the win but missed the final part because the drunken girl standing next to me on the bench nearly pushed me off when she became off-balance. Oh well, I still had a great time and managed to only lose $3.60 for the whole thing despite making some very stupid bets!
