The views from Sandia Peak are breathtaking, and for some … so is the elevation (2 miles above sea level). On a clear day, the view is more than worth the drive up from Albuquerque or the fare on the tramway.

The view on day of my family’s last visit (late August 2007) was a bit hazy due to the heat in Albuquerque, but the views were still impressive.

If you have the chance to go there on a really clear cool day… and especially if you are taking the tram I suggest going around sunset so that you really get the full effect of the views of the city at dusk and beyond.

It was under renovation, but it was still worth the trip down. I look forward to going back some time soon.

There is more to New York state than just New York city. Seems obvious doesn’t it? Well, you might be surprised how many people think the whole state is like Manhattan or Brooklyn or the like.

Beautiful place in the Fall. I can’t speak to the skiing in the Winter. Even though I live in the region, I have never made up there in winter.

After you have seen the American side, go see the Canadian side of the falls. The parks and the attractions are much nicer in my opinion. Make sure you have the proper ID and documents to get back across the border into the United States when done. The I.N.S. and border agents can be sticky at times.

I haven’t been back to Big D to see a Dallas Stars home game since they were in Reunion Arena last. I would really like to see them play at home and check out the “new” arena at the same time. Friends tell me the new venue is something else.

Los Alamos is one of those places you have to be patient with as a visitor. Give it a chance and you may be surprised.

Go there when you can see a missle test. Bring lots of water. Beautiful sand.

No where else can you see so many hot air balloons in one place and at one time. Balooners and their crews are a great deal of fun. The whole event is a blast. Definitely take your camera.

A great place for people watching and staying cool in the summer.
