A great town

I lived in Fayetteville for over a decade. It’s a great little town where people are genuinely friendly. It is growing at an amazing pace, which may make it loose its charm eventually, but, for now at least, it’s still a great town with lots of scenic beauty. Anyone who likes camping or hiking should give it a try. It’s a college town (University of Arkansas), which means that the political climate leans to the left, unlike the rest of the state.

Charleston

Worth visiting!

Worth your time...

Charleston is worth a visit for the food, architecture, and beaches. The downtown is charming. The political climate of the place, and of South Carolina in general, leans hard to the right, which makes it not the best place to live if you lean to the left. But in either case, it is something worth seeing.

A nice calm place

Mount Pleasant is a town, but it functions, more or less, as a suburb of Charleston and North Charleston. It is also close to Sullivan’s Island and Isle of Palms, which makes it a nice place to live if you work in any of those places but want a quieter place to hang your hat (with easy access to the SI and IOP beaches). It’s tidy, quite, safe, and (the biggest downside) very conservative, as is most all of South Carolina. The Shem Creek area is worth checking out if you’re visiting Charleston (it’s just across the bridge from downtown).
