Although Paris is great

the slow pace of life in Brittany is something else, as is the wonderfull climate. Am going back this summer with my son and my partner with my parents and sisters family – usually a recipe for disaster but in this environment i don’t think so – Surf the Cote Savage here I come!

What can one say

Museum of torture, drugs, a young and free lifestyle. Many nights I no longer remember!

Munro Bagging

I spent one winter, all 3 1/2 months of it, alone in the damp cold of the highland winter, tramping over bog, down glen and up mountains – to climb all of them over 3000ft tall.
Scotland is one of the last true European wilderness and long may it remain!

A city of Islands

A wonderfull place to live, full of keenly interestedd and interesting, liberal minded individuals. The lifestyle is enviable and the Metro is almost as good as Moscows….. My friends showed me the sights, thank you.

Lenin

To stand by Lenins tomb, to witness the austerity of the last days of the failing soviet regime, to be in a city that history echoes through the twentieth century and to have a flight booked for Leningrad – all amazing stuff.
They sell ice cream in -25 degrees, it’s easy, you dont need a fridge!

The first time I went to this place

I was amazed by the glow of the desert against the torquoise of the sky as the sun dipped behind endless dunes. We slept out under the stars to the braying of donkeys and with kangaroo like mice stealing our biscuits. Perfect.

You can see China from here

Cold, bleak, concrete – was asked for my jeans whilst on a cable car in the mountains. A great place but at the end of the Soviet period a formidable spirit was required….

A review of this place: A truly spiritual place

I do not believe in God. This is a church.

This was the first prefabricated concrete building – it is just amazing. The space is perfectly designed to encourage contemplation.

Be in a place where you can, in reality, walk in the footsteps of the ancients.

Religious or not – this place with touch you.
