Henry Doorly Zoo

Worth visiting!

The last time I went to this place

i pretty much decided that i’m going to the zoo once a week, for exercize purposes, and because i cant resist the animals. no trip to the zoo is ever the same.

[PICTURE: this is an orangutan i kind of became friends with at the zoo. she’s pretty much cuteness on sticks]

San Francisco

Worth visiting!

I WANNA GO BACK!!!

yes, they’re right when they say San Fran is expensive.

Moving on… ITS GORGEOUS!!! I mean, everything there is beautiful! the coast, the Golden Gate Bridge, Alcatraz (yes, it is beautiful), Chinatown, Lombard St, Pier 39, even the buildings are beautiful! its hard not to love San Fran. It really is. I was only there for a week, and after day 2, i knew my way around.

Estes Park

Worth visiting!

My Summer Home.

For five years now, i’ve gone to Estes Park on the second week of June. Not only is everyone here extremely friendly, but its completely surrounded by mountains (so you have a gorgeous view wherever you are) and PLENTY of awesome tourist traps.

the best part of Estes Park? its right next door to the Rocky Mountain National Park.

I dont know. I cant describe this place well enough to do it the least bit of justice. You just have to see it yourself.

(PICTURE: that’s my hotel that i stay in every single time i go out there. Gorgeous eh? Right on top of the Big Thompson River. Let me tell you, its well worth it.)

Badlands

Worth visiting!

wow.

this is just one of those places where words nor pictures can totally describe the beauty and feel of the place. One of those extremely relaxing and gorgeous places not alot of people know about.

Kansas City

Worth visiting!

If you can afford it, go to the Westin Hotel. Its gorgeous.

Ok, i’ll admit it, i went here for one reason, and that was to go to a Hanson Concert with my Hanson-obsessed best friend. And no, i didn’t particularly want to go. However, that all changed when i stepped in the Westin Hotel which was awesome. They have a pretty pool, the best beds ive ever slept on, a gorgeous indoor waterfall, and… an attached mall. ::heaven hymns ring from above::

So, that was amazing… then the concert was really amazing itself… but i wont go into it too much, but all i have to say is KC is a beautiful city.

(PICTURE: that would be the indoor waterfall. Gorgeous eh? yeah, then those stairs in back lead to the pool! yes!)

Chicago

Not worth visiting!

eh... maybe i'm biased...

Okokokok… so i’ve come here three times on family reunions (which that alone makes it a drag), and once for a wedding (which was nice) and i’ve only ever seen Lake Michigan, which is the only plus. And it rains EVERY time i go here. Yeah. I’m a little biased.

(PICTURE: Lake Michigan… or so Google tells me it is… but it looks familiar.)

Omaha

I love Omaha.

If someone asked me where in the world i would have wanted to grow up in, i would’ve said Omaha, NE. Granted, i choose it because i know what life is like out here, and its great and simple.

Most of the popular towns in the States are busy, crammed with people, crimes happening every two seconds, and busy. Omaha is like 10 steps below that. We’re busy enough, not crammed with people but still very populated, and only a few crimes a day. I can walk down the street for a mile in this city and feel safe.

However, if your traveling from someplace like L.A. or New York, or Florida, you’re not going to get much out of this trip, because the trip here, in some way, shape, or form, involves alot of corn (on the way here, theres no farms in the city), a lot of wondering what to do other than go to the zoo and go downtown, and you’ll wonder how places like this exist.

But i’ll tell you, if you like friendly people, the second largest zoo in the States, art fests, rock music (Omaha is notorious for its underground indie rock music, think Bright Eyes), simple town life and lots of trees, then Omaha is perfect for you.

Omaha is more the place to settle down in than to visit on a vacation.
